Fiona Hughes is a health coach and New Adult Learning educator with a degree in medicine and a BA in cultural studies. Fiona facilitates healing experiences for individuals and groups, using anthroposophical remedies in her health practice, and processes for inner development in retreat settings.
Fiona is passionate about working with the 7 learning processes (the loop) because in her experience they are a powerful tool for developing etheric perception, and for deepening our relationship with ourselves, others, and with nature. As the basis for week-long retreats, the processes invite participants to experience how the 3 soul capacities of thinking, feeling and willing, can transform into the new spiritual capacities of imagination, inspiration and intuition. It is these capacities that we need now to meet the chaos and turmoil of everyday life, to awaken to threshold moments where change is possible, and to live our lives with more creatively and conscious intent.
On her life path Fiona seeks opportunities to deepen and share her integrative and spiritual understanding of health and inner development. This journey began in her early 20’s while caring for her brother when he was dying with AIDS. After receiving her medical degree from the University of Witten/Herdecke, Germany, Fiona worked as a consultant to imagine better healthcare scenarios for patients, doctors and the elderly, first at Idea Couture, and then for Hesperus retirement community, authoring the report “The Hesperus Way: Defining A Vision for Care”. For the past 15 years Fiona has lectured at Rudolf Steiner College Canada on topics in health, nutrition and biography. Inspired by the archetypal principle of transformation at work in the sevens, she leads workshops on the healing aspects of the seven metals, fairytales and soul types, the chakras, Parzival, and Christian Rosenkreutz. For passion week 2026 she will be offering an online course on the colours of the rainbow.
Based on the principles of NAL, Fiona’s retreats integrate art processes, nature study, dream journalling, discussions, movement and healthy food. Offered over the course of one year the program is comprised of 3 one week blocks:
- The Transformative Path though the Sevens
- Karma & Destiny Learning
- Creative Spiritual Research
Since becoming a New Adult Educator in 2020, Fiona has run the Connections retreat program in Quebec and Ontario, and New Adult Educators retreats in Florianopolis, Brazil, and in Duncan, B.C. She is currently offering the Connections program in Ontario, and is exploring the possibility of upcoming sessions in Calgary, Quebec and Ontario in Summer 2026. Please reach out to Fiona hughes.fionam@gmail.com if you are interested in joining or in initiating a new program in Canada or abroad.

Testimonials
This training was the most interesting, powerful, and transformative, in terms of my inner work as a human being and as a teacher. Plus, the teacher is really good. Gentle and firm, sensitive and funny too. We use art to get to know ourselves better, we study anthroposophy, we work with the night and dreams, and we integrate group work and karma. We disconnect from everyday life to delve into ourselves and the spiritual worlds to better integrate these forces into our daily lives. – L.C.
The loop is a very potent instrument. Simple, deep, on the nose. It is incredible how Fiona inspires me. A model of leadership that isn’t controlling. She is very human and is very much a partner because she brings her vulnerability – M
Whether you’re looking for personal transformation, self development, or carrying forth greater ways to help others, New Adult Learning will guide you. This course is not for the faint of heart. It will give you what you put in, and will require you to be vulnerable, honest, and to trust the process with an open heart. As long as you can do that, you will receive more than you can imagine for true transformation, as well as a new sense of community and wonderful connections. From my heart to yours, I highly recommend NAL to everyone.”

The NAL program changed my life. Finding my place in the world, and living my life from a heart centered place, I feel as if I truly know myself for the first time and I now want to create something new with others – D.S.
